Pastors of Destiny Church

When God put the desire in our hearts to return to Rainsville and Pastor Destiny Church, we were so surprised. Every so often we experience those 'suddenly' moments in life that God puts in our paths. This one was a big one. We had been out-of-state for a decade and had no plans on returning. But God! Since we moved back in October 2017, the Lord has blessed us every step of the way.
Our heart is to change the paradigm of church in our community. As Christian's, it is so easy to lose perspective of why we are born again. Our purpose is to partner with the Holy Spirit to work in us (discipleship) and through us (loving the lost). Our core values are simple: 1) the presence of Jesus 2) the journey of discipleship 3) the power of praying the Word. At Destiny Church, our mission is to be a family of believers who impact this community with the love and presence of Jesus.

Have Questions?

Ever wonder what the bible says about tithing or salvation, scroll  down and read what the Word says about these subjects.

Tithing, What Does The Bible Say About It?

Here are some scriptures to begin your search.

Leviticus 27:30

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's; it is holy unto the Lord.

 Malachi 3:8

Will a man rob or defraud God?  Yet you rob and defraud Me.  But you say, In what way do we rob or defraud You?  You have withheld your tithes and offerings.

 Malachi 3:10

Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

 Hebrew 7:9

A person might even say that Levi [the father of the priestly tribe] himself, who received tithes (the tenth), paid tithes through Abraham.

What is Salvation?

Recognize and Acknowledge That You Are A Sinner

The Bible says that every person is born into sin.  Inevitably, each of us are subject to its effects. There is an attitude of rebellion in each of us that causes us to desire to resist and act in opposition to God’s will. The result of this opposition against the will of God shows up in our actions. When we commit sinful deeds it causes us to feel guilt, shame, regret and many other things that cause us to want to avoid God. In order to fix a problem, it must first be identified and then acknowledged. The first step in solving this sin issue is to recognize and admit your need for a change.  Romans 3:10 tells us, There is none righteous, no, not one.  Personal ownership of this fact is necessary.  This is not something that we can get away with by making excuses or blaming others- or even our circumstances- for our actions.   Romans 3:23 says,  For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

Repent Of Your Sins.

The word repent means to change your direction. The Bible tells us in Acts 3:19: Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.   God commands us to turn away from our sinful lifestyle and turn towards Him.  You must be willing to turn away from the things that displease God, stop trying to avoid Him, and invite Him into your life.

Making Your Decision Public

Being Baptized...

In the Bible, Matthew 28:19 we are instructed to go and Baptize.  Acts 2:38. Galations 3:27. Colossians 2:12. When we are Baptized we are making a public statement that we are putting ourselves under, hence the meaning for going underwater. And we are rising up in a newness of Life IN Christ.
